What is a Low Speed Vehicle (LSV)?

An LSV is a street-legal electric vehicle that can be driven on public roads with speed limits of 35 mph or less — no gas, no emissions, and no problem finding parking.

  • Street legal on roads posted 35 mph or under in Wisconsin
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and vehicle registration
  • Must be insured just like a car
  • Top speed of 25 mph — perfect for neighborhoods, campgrounds, and around town
  • 100% electric — charge at home with a standard outlet
  • Seats 2 to 6 passengers depending on model
  • A fraction of the cost to own and operate vs. a traditional vehicle
